Final Drafted Commercial Campaign Ad: Johnnie Seaman Cognac

So I went back to library and re-recorded myself and a bottle at a bookshelf, including a little different testimony. Then I used a previous video I recorded and edited a video that I newly recorded with iMovie in iPhone for UHCL Digital Storytelling class. Hopefully this final Drafted video is much improved than those two Rough Drafted videos I created, which are not quite creative enough.

VR Concept For Campaign Ads

When it comes to a VR Concept, I may not exactly know how to describe and brainstorming an idea. Maybe I can come up with a cognac (less than 24% alc.) made with tea and lemon, which will boost brain to work hard, stay up and energetic and play smart (similar to a Red Bull that will give you not only wings, but energy.) It’s for people who felt fatigue of reading a complicated books (such as school textbooks,) studying for exam and writing essays.

Brainstorming and Storyboards for Campaign Ad

I was assigned to do a campaign ad that will attract the audiences to participate. I’m going to create a product that really inspired me as a hobby. A hobby is a Cognac bottle that I collected from four major French cognacs as French decors (Rémy Martin, Courvoisier, Martell and Hennessy.) And if I’m going to create a campaign product ad, I will create a logo that resemble to an ocean sea, and a label stickers to call it “Johnnie Seaman.” Its logo looks similar to Martell.

I’m going to use an empty Martell Blue Swift bottle, remove its label stickers, and put my label stickers in a bottle. I will use apple juice to look like a Cognac. I will record myself with my iPhone at a library. I will play as a guy feeling fatigue and tired of studying, reading and doing homework, and need a drink to boost my brain and open my mind, so it will help me get the assignment faster and well in school without being left behind.

It really inspired me from a testimony/slogan that Red Bull energy drink, “Red Bull Gives You Wings,” it metaphors as it will make anyone run faster and work quickly as an athlete. So here are two storyboards that I roughly sketched before making two rough crafted campaign ad videos.

After creating two storyboards, I will use my iPhone to record videos of myself and a bottle with iPhone, record my own voice with a voice recorder that iMovie provided, and then edit sounds and videos in iMovie that I downloaded and used in iMovie (it’s a mandatory for video makers and storytellers to use without having to carry bulky equipments, such as tripod, camera/camcorder, audio mixer, etc.)

VR Experience from Houston Community College Central

After attending the VR Tour Session that was hosted by Professor Ruben in Houston Community College Central, I had a glimpse of viewing the screen with Oculus VR google that took me into the fantasy world without my feet touching in the ground as an astronaut (flying through he space.)

There are three VR showcases that I have experience in Oculus VR:

“Night Color by Van Gough.” I imagined that I was standing above the feet, looking at Van Gogh and a son looking at a castle that look similar to a Renaissance/Victorian castle. I went up to look up the gallery, and then went up through the night above the rooftop to look at the asteroids and star shining and flying way above the sky, known as “Starry Starry Night.” But if I press the control button, I went down back to the sand, of above the caste, to look at the sky with the moon.

“Dear Angelica.” I look at of Jessica, a teenage girl, sleeping in her bed while the TV of her mother in any action fantasy shows. While my body is drifted into an abstract swirls that illustrator vivid landscapes in her mind, and I fell down into a magical and dreamlike worlds of her memories, including a race car and a dragon while Jessica tells a story about how she love and lost her mother (Angelica.) This story touches my heart, and I really enjoy her fantasy story that took me into paradise inside her dreams.

“Titanic VR.” I went back home from HCC Central after experiencing somewhat a motion dizziness. Then in next day, I bought an Oculus VR from Best Buy for over $30 to continue on a tour in computer (in order to catch up third VR video.) I experienced Titanic VR (that I haven’t seen what HCC offered,) a long hour exploration game that will take me from sinking ocean through discoveries that have been buried below the ocean sand. It’s worth a historical tragedy through discover from 1912 (that Titanic accidentally sinked by Iceberg in the middle of Atlantic Ocean) through rediscover the lost items to complete the mission in 1986 (led by a marine scientists named Ethan Lynch.)
